Fuzzy Jayling

I’ve seen a lot of new adds lately, and I’m curious where they came from. But I wanted to let you all know, I don’t really use this anymore. (Thanks for adding, anyway. :)

Gone

In case it wasn’t apparent by my pithy last two photos (sign language for “all done” and a girl from Serial Experiments Lain vanishing), I’m pretty much leaving Tumblr alone at this point. However, if there’s anyone on here I’ve gotten more friendly with who wants to follow me elsewhere, send me an Ask. I don’t know if Asks are still as unreliable as they used to be, but if it makes it through, I might be able to hook you up. (Depends: I’m pretty picky about letting people on my other social networks, not out of snobbery, but because I need to protect my one life from the other in several respects.)

I enjoyed hanging out with everyone here, it just got to be too much to deal with (as always). I’m not very good at social networks.

I always liked her creepy smile right there. Somehow it expresses something important that I’ve never really see any emoticon or saying capture.

I just posted a page about “plurality etiquette”. It’s mostly just linking to Magnetons’ page, but there is one thing that I think is not as normal for plurals for me that I clarified in there. This:

I don’t mind if you ask for another headmate. Whoever is in front may ask you to wait or may just deny the request for whatever reason, but I have no problem with someone saying “I was wondering if I could talk to Sparrow” or whatever.

Wonder where this is. Does Prince know about this place?

I don’t know but it’s amazing!

The human animal is a beautiful and terrible creature, capable of limitless compassion and unfathomable cruelty. If you wish to find that which becomes the dividing line between mankind and other biological classifications, it rests not in brain size, dominance, or even emotional capability. It lies within the innate capacity for human beings to reflect on their actions, and show regret. It is most certainly the ability to empathize that gives them their position. All mammals understand love and affection, but only man shows a propensity to place himself into the shoes of another life-form. Losing this capability, among individuals of the species, reduces them below their much heralded position, and readies the climate for the likely fall of man. A fall from grace.
Lyrics from The Cruxshadows. You know, I used to like this song for the sound of it. Now that I know all the words to the intro mumbling part, I can’t like it anymore. The last two lines are fine, and they’re a good sentiment, but the rest is speciesist nonsense. How do we know other animals don’t have empathy, even scientifically? It’s an abstract concept; it’s not like we can ask them. No, they don’t act like humans, therefore they are inherently inferior. Sorry but bullshit…

Does anyone know if it is legal to own a raven in the states?

Is it morally acceptable to own any other animal?

Not even trying to be snarky. I can’t call my cat “pet ownership”. We take care of her. We keep her inside because she would hurt herself outside, at her age. (Heck, she doesn’t even want to go outside.) I don’t think I own her.

Uah… I’m sort of at a loss to describe this except to say that this is the closest I’ve seen to real-life Blood Elf architecture.
